Great Spirit Ancient Prayer
"Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in
the wind, Whose breath gives life to all the world.
Hear me; I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes
ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have
made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand
the things you have taught my people.
Help me to remain calm and strong in the
face of all that comes towards me.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock. Help me seek pure thoughts and act with
the intention of helping others. Help me find compassion without empathy
overwhelming me. I
seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy - Myself.
Make me always ready to come to you with
clean hands and straight eyes. So
when life fades, as the fading sunset, my
spirit may come to you without shame.
"May you always walk in Beauty."

justice
| |
Well today I learn that our British Justice system as we know is a farce. I know of a family that is struggling and the courts decide to make things worse. I cannot name the family but there is the mother and 3 children at home. The second eldest who we shall call Jay is at the moment not going to school and has not done so for a while. The mother who is one of the most loving and caring mothers that there is who loves her children dearly has done everything that she can do to get him to school. Today she had a court appearance and instead of offering her help they fine her instead. DO WE CALL THIS JUSTICE?

I wish
the old paths were before us instead of behind us.
THE OLD PATHS
I
liked the old paths, when
Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!
Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.
Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.
Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.
Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children looked decent.
People loved the truth,
And hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!
Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal;
And crying sounded sincere.
Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness;
And divorce was unthinkable.
The flag was honored;
Scotland was beautiful;
And God was welcome!
We read the Bible in public;
Prayed in school;
And preached from house to house
To be called an Scottish was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!
Preachers preached because they had a message;
And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED!
A new birth meant a new life;
Salvation meant a changed life;
Following Christ led to eternal life.
Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God;
Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!
Laws were based on the Bible;
Homes read the Bible;
And churches taught the Bible.
God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;
And the Holy Spirit was respected..
Church was where you found Christians
on the Lord's day, rather than in the garden,
on the creek bank, on the golf course,
Or being entertained somewhere else.
I
still like the old paths the best!
"The
Old Paths" was written by a retired minister who lives In Tennessee

George Carlin at age
102: (Absolutely Brilliant)
.
George
Carlin's Views on Ageing
Do you realise
that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're
kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about ageing
that you think in fractions.
'How old are
you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're
four and a half, going on five! That's the key
You get into
your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number,
or even a few ahead.
'How old are
you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16!
And then the greatest day of your life .... .. You become 21. Even the
words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!
But then you
turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He
TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a
sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?
You BECOME 21,
you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all
slipping away.. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are
gone.
But wait!!!
You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!
So you BECOME
21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.
You've built
up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing;
you HIT Wednesday!
You get into
your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN
4:30 ; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there Into the 90s, you
start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'
Then a strange
thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again.
'I'm 100 and a half!'
May you all
make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
HOW TO STAY
YOUNG
1. Throw out
nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the
doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'
2. Keep only
cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep
learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.
Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'
And the
devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the
simple things.
5. Laugh
often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears
happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us
our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround
yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes,
music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish
your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9.. Don't take
guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next country; to a
foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the
people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS
REMEMBER :
Life is not
measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take
our breath away.

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE
This is God. Today
I will be handling All of your problems for you.. I do Not need your
help. So, have a nice day.
I love you.
P.S. And,
remember...
If life happens to
deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to
resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to
do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME. All situations will be resolved,
but in My time, not yours.
Once the matter
is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it.
Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your
life now.
If you find
yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this
world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a
bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair
over a relationship gone bad; think of the person who has never known
what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve
the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits,
working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car
break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the
paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice
a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who
wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find
yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is
my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to
get the opportunity.
Should you find
yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness
or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. You could be one of
them!
Should you decide
to send this to a friend; Thank you. You may have touched their life in
ways you will never know!
Now, you have a
nice day....God
God has seen you
struggling,
God says it's
over.
